This post will show you what information is most important for any kind of employee, as well as show you some of the most popular business card layout options that could give you just the right amount of guidance you need for building your business card.

Why should I even have a business card?

First, it’s important to remember the purpose of a business card.
We break it down into 3 simple reasons why business owners, managers and company employees should have a business card with them wherever they go!

The most important information to add to your business card

Your Name: Clearly state your full name, as you want people to remember who you are.

Job Title: Mention your current job title or role within your organization.
Company Name: Include the name of the company or organization you’re associated with.
Contact Information:
- Phone Number: Provide a professional phone number where clients or contacts can reach you.
- Email Address: Include a professional email address.
- Physical Address: If applicable, add your office or business location. If you primarily operate online, this may not be necessary.
- Website: Include your personal or company website URL for more detailed information.
Logo: Incorporate your company’s logo for brand recognition.

WHAT TO KEEP IN MIND

You should remember that a great business card should have the following:

1. Legible/readable font and text size

2. Standard Card Size: Stick to the standard business card size (usually around 3.5 inches by 2 inches) to ensure it fits easily in wallets and cardholders

3. Double-sided Printing: If you need more space, consider using both sides of the card. However, don’t overcrowd the design.

If you choose to not use these options you’ll still have plenty of information to provide your consumers with; however, if you’re hoping to reach a younger crowd, we strongly recommend you add social media handles at least. So many business owners find their customers on different channels like Instagram and Tiktok, Facebook and X.

Social Media Handles: If you use social media professionally, you can add icons or handles for platforms like LinkedIn, X, Instagram, etc.
QR Code: A QR code is a fast and safe way for indviduals to scan your information through a phone. Upon scanning, the QR code will quickly direct them to your website or online profile.
